The inspirational life of Kwok Lee Cheng

Lee Cheng was born on 18th Feb 1936 in Singapore. She was the eldest of six children, 4 girls and 2 brothers. As her parents died when she was very young, she being the oldest of her siblings had to take up the responsibility of her brothers and sisters. She had to drop out of school, do odd jobs to help raise her younger siblings. She had to face many hardships but her resilience helped her to raise her siblings.

Lee Cheng saw both the British Rule and Japanese Rule of Singapore. Over time she was involved in the grass root mobilization of Singapore's efforts towards independence.

Her sisters called Lee Cheng a go getter. Her efforts towards grass roots mobilisation of Singapore's freedom fight, led her to meet her husband Lee Yoke Chor. She would be help anyone who would come to her asking for help. This sense of duty is what she imbibed in her children later on in life.

Lee Cheng and her husband had 4 children, two boys and two girls, with all four children eventually building not just successful careers but are also continuing her sense of duty.

Throughout her life, Lee Cheng remained a source of inspiration to many. Her story of perseverance, resilience, and fearlessness is a testament to the human spirit and a shining example of what one can achieve through kindness and determination.
